Decision Necklace was commissioned for the Whangaparaoa Library in 2005. The work  consists of 12 hand-etched zinc panels (1mm x 300mm x 1800mm). Lines, shapes, textures are etched to varying depths and tinted with paint to give the effect of etching plates ‘inked’ and ‘wiped’ ready for printing. Each panel weighs 4.6 kilos and is fixed to the wall with mounting clips fixed to pinions drilled into the concrete. The panels are coated with a Urethane clear finish to protect the surface from oxidation and ensure the soft polish of the metal is maintained.
